How to Become a Money Magnet: Stop Chasing Abundance and Start Expecting It
Many of us dream of abundance.
We want financial freedom, a comfortable home, the ability to travel, opportunities for ourselves and our families, and the feeling that we no longer have to worry.
There is nothing wrong with wanting abundance.
Wanting to grow, succeed, experience more and create a beautiful life is a natural part of being human.
But what if the biggest shift is not learning how to chase money harder?
What if it is learning how to stop experiencing money as something that is always somewhere in the future?
What if abundance begins with a decision about the reality you are willing to believe is possible for you?
This is where the teachings of Joseph Murphy, Gregg Braden and certain biblical passages begin to create an interesting connection.
Although they come from very different traditions and should not simply be treated as saying exactly the same thing, they all place enormous importance on belief, inner expectation, prayer, imagination, feeling and faith.
And perhaps the most important idea is this:
You do not have to constantly look for evidence that your desired life is coming. You can begin by becoming the person who already expects it.
Where Does the Feeling of Lack Come From?
Our beliefs about money often begin forming long before we become adults.
As children, we absorb the messages, emotions and experiences around us.
We notice how people around us talk about money, success, stability and uncertainty.
Maybe we heard:
"Money is difficult to earn."
"There is never enough."
"You have to struggle to succeed."
"People like us don't become wealthy."
"You have to work extremely hard for every penny."
Or perhaps we experienced moments where security, support or stability felt uncertain.
These experiences can create subconscious beliefs that influence how we approach money later in life.
Even when we become capable adults, part of us may still feel like we are trying to prove that we are safe.
So we keep chasing.
One more achievement.
One more goal.
One more client.
One more sale.
One more number in the bank account.
Believing that eventually, we will finally feel secure.
But what if we have the order backwards?
What if we don't have to wait until the money arrives before we allow ourselves to feel safe, grateful, confident and abundant?
What if the inner state comes first?
The Search for Money Is Often the Search for a Feeling
When we look deeper, many things we desire are connected to emotions.
Money can represent safety.
Success can represent freedom.
A beautiful home can represent peace.
Travel can represent adventure.
Financial independence can represent choice.
Often, abundance itself is not the final destination.
The feeling behind it is.
We are searching for freedom.
We are searching for confidence.
We are searching for peace.
We are searching for the feeling that life is working in our favour.
But when we believe that peace can only arrive after we reach a certain level of financial success, we can spend years chasing the next milestone.
The finish line keeps moving.
This is why manifestation, when understood as an inner practice, is not simply about saying positive words and waiting for money to fall from the sky.
It is about changing the relationship you have with the possibility of abundance.
Instead of constantly thinking:
"Where is it?"
"When is it coming?"
"Why don't I have it yet?"
"You need to find a way to make this happen."
You begin moving toward:
"I know abundance is possible for me."
"I am open to receiving."
"I trust that opportunities can appear in ways I cannot currently see."
"I don't need to know every step."
"I can feel grateful before I see the evidence."
That is a completely different internal position.
Joseph Murphy and the Power of the Subconscious Mind
Joseph Murphy's work in The Power of Your Subconscious Mind places enormous emphasis on the relationship between conscious thought, belief and the subconscious mind.
Murphy taught that what we repeatedly impress upon the subconscious becomes an important influence on our experiences and behaviour.
This gives us a fascinating way of looking at abundance.
Imagine someone constantly thinking:
"Money is hard to make."
"I never have enough."
"Other people are lucky, but I'm not."
"I can't afford that."
"I'm always struggling."
Even when opportunities appear, their internal expectation may still be one of limitation.
They may hesitate.
They may undervalue themselves.
They may avoid taking opportunities.
They may expect rejection.
They may spend from fear.
They may constantly look for evidence that money is difficult.
Now imagine changing the internal assumption.
"I am supported."
"Opportunities are available to me."
"I am worthy of abundance."
"I am capable of creating wealth."
"Money can come to me through expected and unexpected channels."
"I am becoming comfortable with receiving more."
The important part is not simply repeating the words mechanically.
It is allowing the new idea to become believable.
Murphy's approach places particular emphasis on imagination and feeling. Rather than endlessly imagining yourself trying to become wealthy, you can imagine yourself already living the experience you desire.
See yourself opening your bank account and feeling calm.
Imagine paying your bills without anxiety.
Imagine booking the holiday you've dreamed about.
Imagine sitting in your home feeling grateful for the life you created.
Imagine receiving the message you've been waiting for.
And most importantly, notice how it feels.
Not desperate.
Not frantic.
Not:
"Please, please let this happen."
But:
"Of course. This is possible for me."
Gregg Braden and the Idea of Feeling the Prayer
Gregg Braden approaches prayer and manifestation through a very different spiritual framework, but one of the ideas associated with his work is particularly relevant here: feeling the outcome as though the prayer has already been answered.
In his discussion of the "lost mode of prayer," Braden describes moving away from prayer based entirely on asking and toward experiencing the feeling associated with the desired outcome already being fulfilled.
His work places strong emphasis on thought, emotion, feeling, gratitude and the experience of an outcome as already accomplished.
Think about the difference.
There is a huge energetic and emotional difference between:
"Please let me become financially free."
and:
"Thank you for the financial freedom I am experiencing."
The first statement can come from the awareness of something missing.
The second begins from the feeling of having received.
This is the heart of the practice.
You are not desperately searching for evidence.
You are not constantly checking whether it has happened.
You are not asking every morning:
"Where is my manifestation?"
You choose the internal reality first.
You allow yourself to experience the feeling of the reality you want.
Then you live your day from that state.
Stop Looking for It
This may be one of the biggest mindset shifts when working with manifestation.
If you constantly look for the thing you want, you are constantly reminding yourself that you don't have it.
You want money.
So you check your bank account.
You want a new career.
So you repeatedly worry about whether the opportunity is coming.
You want love.
So you constantly look for signs that someone is coming.
You want a new home.
So you obsess over when it will happen.
The desire itself is not the problem.
The feeling of "I don't have it yet" can become the problem.
Instead, imagine making a decision:
"I know this is possible for me."
"I don't need to know exactly how."
"I don't need to force every detail."
"I don't need to chase evidence."
"I can live today as the version of myself who trusts that life can unfold in my favour."
This is not passive.
It is a change in your internal starting point.
You still take action.
You still work.
You still learn.
You still create.
You still send the email.
You still launch the business.
You still apply for the opportunity.
But you are no longer taking action from panic.
You are taking action from expectation.
What Does the Bible Actually Say About This?
This is where the conversation becomes especially interesting.
The Bible does not use the modern word "manifestation" in the way social media often uses it.
It would therefore be inaccurate to say that the Bible simply teaches:
"Choose whatever reality you want and the universe must give it to you."
Biblical faith is more deeply connected with God, prayer, trust and belief.
Yet there are passages that sound remarkably close to the principle of believing in the reality of something before it becomes visible.
One of the clearest examples is found in Mark 11:24:
"Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
The wording is striking.
It does not simply say:
"Ask, then spend the rest of your life wondering whether it will happen."
It speaks about believing that you have received.
That creates an entirely different relationship with prayer.
You ask.
You believe.
You trust.
You release the desperate need to constantly see proof.
And you move forward in faith.
There is another important biblical idea in Romans 4:17, which describes God as the One who "calls into existence the things that do not exist."
This has often been connected by spiritual teachers with the idea of bringing something unseen into visible experience through faith.
But there is an important distinction.
In the biblical understanding, God remains the source and authority.
The modern manifestation interpretation that says "I am God and I can create absolutely anything I want simply by thinking it" goes beyond what the Bible explicitly teaches.
A more grounded interpretation is:
Faith allows you to live from the certainty of what you hope for before physical evidence appears.
That is a powerful idea in itself.
Faith Is Not the Same as Looking for Proof
Imagine planting a seed.
You put it into the ground.
You water it.
You trust that something is happening beneath the surface.
You do not dig it up every morning to check whether the roots have appeared.
You allow the process to unfold.
Manifestation can be approached in a similar way.
You decide what you want.
You connect emotionally with the experience.
You reinforce the belief.
You take inspired action.
And then you allow space for the outcome to unfold.
This is where knowing becomes different from hoping.
Hoping says:
"I really want this to happen."
Knowing says:
"I don't know exactly when or how, but I trust that this is possible for me."
Hoping constantly checks.
Knowing can breathe.
Hoping looks outside for reassurance.
Knowing carries reassurance within.
You Don't Need to Know How
One of the most limiting beliefs around manifestation is the idea that you have to know exactly how your desire will happen.
You don't.
You only need to become clear about what you want and the feeling you want to experience.
The "how" may come through a person you haven't met yet.
An opportunity you haven't discovered.
An idea you haven't thought of.
A conversation you haven't had.
A business opportunity.
A completely unexpected change in circumstances.
Joseph Murphy's work also describes the subconscious as capable of guiding a person through ideas, impulses and intuitions rather than simply producing an outcome in some magical instant.
This is important because manifestation should not become an excuse to sit still.
Sometimes the answer to your prayer may look like an inspired idea.
Sometimes it may look like courage.
Sometimes it may look like meeting someone.
Sometimes it may look like taking a completely different direction.
Sometimes the first manifestation is simply becoming the person who is capable of recognising and receiving the opportunity.
Becoming a Money Magnet Starts From Within
Being a "money magnet" is not about believing that money appears without action.
It is about changing the internal relationship you have with abundance.
It is moving:
From fear to trust.
From scarcity to possibility.
From desperation to expectation.
From chasing to allowing.
From "I hope this happens" to "I know this is possible."
From constantly searching for evidence to becoming comfortable with the unseen.
When you start seeing yourself as someone who is worthy of receiving abundance, your thoughts, choices and actions begin to shift.
You become more open to opportunities.
You become more confident in your decisions.
You stop undervaluing yourself.
You stop automatically assuming that everything has to be difficult.
You begin noticing possibilities you previously overlooked.
And you start acting differently.
That is where the inner world begins influencing the outer world in very practical ways.
Try This Abundance Practice
Tonight, before you go to sleep, put your phone away.
Close your eyes.
Take a few slow breaths.
Then choose one specific experience you would love to have.
It could be financial freedom.
A successful business.
A beautiful home.
A certain amount of savings.
A dream holiday.
Or simply the feeling of being completely financially secure.
Now imagine that it has already happened.
Don't watch yourself trying to achieve it.
Experience yourself after it has happened.
Where are you?
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What are you holding?
What are you wearing?
What does your bank account look like?
Who is beside you?
Most importantly:
How do you feel?
Feel the relief.
Feel the gratitude.
Feel the freedom.
Feel the calm.
Feel the certainty.
Then say:
"I am grateful."
"I trust that abundance is available to me."
"I am open to receiving."
"I don't need to know every step."
"I choose to live from faith rather than fear."
"I know that what I desire is possible."
And then let it go.
You don't need to spend the next day obsessing over whether it worked.
You planted the seed.
Now live.
The Power of Gratitude Before the Evidence
Gratitude is often treated as something we practise after receiving what we want.
But what if gratitude can also become the emotional state we practise before the evidence appears?
Instead of:
"I'll be grateful when I have more money."
Try:
"I am grateful for the abundance already present in my life, and I am open to experiencing more."
Instead of:
"I'll feel safe when I have enough."
Try:
"I am learning to feel safe, supported and abundant now."
Instead of:
"I'll be happy when my dream life arrives."
Try:
"I can experience happiness while my dream life is unfolding."
This doesn't mean settling.
It means refusing to postpone your life.
You can desire more while appreciating what already exists.
You can want wealth without making your current bank balance a measurement of your worth.
You can dream bigger without believing that your present circumstances are permanent.
Surround Yourself With Messages That Support Your New Reality
Transformation happens through repetition.
The thoughts we choose.
The environments we create.
The messages we surround ourselves with.
The conversations we repeatedly have with ourselves.
This is why physical reminders can be so powerful.
A morning coffee ritual can become a moment of empowerment when you drink from an "I Am a Money Magnet" mug, reminding yourself to approach the day from confidence rather than fear.
An "I Am a Money Magnet" sweatshirt can become a wearable affirmation—a physical reminder of the identity and belief you are cultivating.
An "I Am a Money Magnet" women's long sleeve can serve as another daily reminder that abundance begins with believing in your own worth, creativity and potential.
These pieces are not about pretending that circumstances change overnight.
They are about creating intentional moments throughout your day where you reconnect with the reality you have chosen to cultivate internally.
Every time you see the message, you have another opportunity to reinforce the belief.
You Are Not Chasing the Future
Perhaps the biggest shift is understanding that manifestation is not necessarily about trying to force the future into existence.
It is about changing the way you relate to the future.
You stop saying:
"I need this to happen so I can finally be okay."
And begin saying:
"I am okay now, and I trust myself to experience more."
You stop saying:
"Where is my abundance?"
And begin saying:
"I am available for abundance."
You stop asking:
"When will it finally happen?"
And begin living from:
"I know it is possible."
That internal difference matters.
Because when you stop living in constant anticipation of the thing you want, you become more present.
You become more observant.
You become more creative.
You become more willing to act.
You become less afraid of taking chances.
You become less attached to controlling every detail.
And sometimes that is exactly where the unexpected path opens.
Abundance Begins With a Decision
You do not have to know exactly how your dream life will happen.
You do not have to have every answer.
You do not have to see the evidence today.
You do not have to constantly chase, force or worry.
You can choose what you want.
You can imagine it.
You can feel it.
You can pray about it.
You can believe.
You can give thanks.
And then you can live your life from the assumption that the possibility is real.
Joseph Murphy teaches us to pay attention to what we repeatedly impress upon the subconscious mind.
Gregg Braden places emphasis on feeling the desired outcome as though the prayer has already been answered.
And the Bible offers its own powerful language of faith, including the instruction to pray and believe that you have received.
These traditions are not identical, and they should not be presented as though they are.
But together they invite us to consider a profound question:
What if you stopped making lack your starting point?
What if you stopped constantly searching for the evidence?
What if you stopped asking whether you are worthy?
What if you stopped treating abundance as something that belongs to other people?
What if you simply decided:
This is possible for me.
And then allowed yourself to feel what it would be like if it were already true.
Not from desperation.
Not from fear.
Not from obsession.
But from faith.
From gratitude.
From trust.
From certainty.
Because perhaps becoming a money magnet isn't about chasing money until you finally feel abundant.
Perhaps it begins when you stop waiting for the outside world to give you permission to feel abundant within.
Choose the reality you want to experience.
Believe in its possibility.
Feel the experience before the evidence arrives.
Take the actions that feel aligned.
And then let life show you the way.
